  • Created on Purpose…..

    Revelation 4:11 (New International Version)
“You are worthy, our Lord and God,
to receive glory and honor and power,
       for you created all things,
and by your will they were created
          and have their being.”

Isn’t it great knowing that you were created on purpose, for a purpose! He loves and wants us. I do have to ask myself  why sometimes but the fact still remains true EVERY day that it was His will that I was created!

Speaking of creating…my Yoder family friends have a VERY new creation in their family. Click over and see just how cute “little” Grant is!

  • Ecclesiastes 4:12

A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

  • South Africa holiday

….at least that is what they call it when you are visiting!

After 23 hours of flying time and 15 hours of lay over time, we made it into George, South Africa. It is a very beautiful place. All of these people must have descended from South Mississippi because they all have the southern hospitality flowing from them.

We have had a couple of strange things to eat like ostrich, which tastes like steak/liver. Springbok, which tastes like a turkey drumstick, was very good with barbeque sauce on it. I tried prawns in garlic butter sauce, angelfish, and Jesse ate yellowtail fish and sole. Just to be honest, there is nothing better than good ol’ southern fried catfish but these fish were good enough to eat but never take the place of catfish!

Our room at the point faces the Indian Ocean and I get to wake up to this view everyday! It is sooo beautiful.

Well, I better go for now!

  • What do you believe?

What Christians believe is so hard to explain to those outside of the Body!  God is the only one that can make them believe…..

    Ephesians 3:17-21

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

     May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Well, We are leaving in the morning*Lord Willing* for South Africa. This is our hotel…The Point

    Wes King sings…

    …I Believe!

    I believe
In six days and a rest
    God is good
    I do confess
    I believe
    In Adam and Eve
In a tree and a garden
In a snake and a thief

    Chorus:
    I believe, I believe
I believe in the Word of God
    I believe, I believe
    ‘Cause He made me believe

    I believe Noah
    Built an ark of wood
    120 years
    No one understood
    I believe Elijah never died
    Called fire from heaven
    On a mountainside

    Chorus

It’s been passed down through ages of time
    Written by hands of men
    Inspired by the Lord
His Word will remain to the end
    I believe Isaiah
    Was a prophet of old
    The Lamb was slain
    Just as he foretold
    I believe Jesus
    Was the Word made man
And He died for my sins
    And He rose again

Mossel Bay (Mosselbaai in Afrikaans) lies on the southern coast of South Africa, east of the Cape of Good Hope and west of Knysna. It lies on the Indian Ocean coast and is part of the Garden Route.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Mossel Bay has the second mildest all-year climate in the world. The first is Hawaii.

  • Personal Blog Poll….

Is the Use of profanity a good thing for Believers? Don’t answer with what you think I want to read but with what you believe. I have been doing some research on this subject and to be honest…it has been disappointing.

The following site is pretty much my sentiments – http://erlc.com/article/christians-and-profanity-what-does-the-bible-say  Don’t be afraid…it isn’t legalistic as you might think and it isn’t toooo long!

“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, LORD, my rock and my Redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).

     SIMPLE LIVING QUOTE

“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more.  It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.  It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.  Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”

                                                                                        –Melody Beattie

    He Maketh No Mistake

My Father’s way may twist and turn,
My heart may throb and ache,
But in my soul I’m glad I know
    He maketh no mistake.

My cherished plans may go astray,
    My hopes may fade away,
But still I’ll trust my Lord to lead,
For He doth know the way.

Though night be dark and it may seem
    That day will never break,
I’ll pin my faith, my all in Him,
    He maketh no mistake.

There’s so much now I cannot see,
    My eyesight’s far too dim;
But come what may, I’ll surely trust
And leave it all to Him.

For by and by the mist will lift
    And plain it all He’ll make;
Through all the way, though dark to me,
    He made not one mistake.

  • Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with love.  1Corinthians 16:13-14

    Refried Bean Soup

    Ingredients

    • 1 small onion, peeled and finely chopped
    • 1 large clove garlic, peeled and minced
    • 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
    • 1 30-ounce can refried beans (use spicy, vegetarian, low-fat, regular, or your favorite variety)
    • 1 14-1/2-ounce can chicken broth
    • 1 to 2 Tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)
    • baked tortilla strips (optional as garnish; recipe below)
    • shredded Jack or Mexican mix cheese (optional)
    • sour cream (optional)

In a large saucepan or Dutch oven, combine the onion, garlic, and the tomatoes. Stir them to combine. Using high heat, bring to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beans and the chicken broth, then stir to combine them. Bring to a simmer, then lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. If desired, stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro.

Ladle into soup bowls and top with tortilla chips, unless you make the baked tortilla strips below. Serve with the shredded Jack or Mexican mix cheese and sour cream, if desired.

    Baked Tortilla Strips

Cut 5 corn tortillas into thin strips and spread them out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake in a 350 degree oven until nicely browned–about 9 minutes or so. Toss them half way through the baking process.

    Serves 6 to 8.
